Post-Publication Discussion

Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Wahana Karya Ilmiah Pendidikan welcomes evidence-based questions, comments, critiques, and responses concerning its published articles. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity to clarify research methods, findings, interpretations, limitations, and implications, thereby supporting scholarly communication and the integrity of the academic record.

1. Scope of Discussion

Post-publication discussion may address the following matters:

  • Research questions, theoretical frameworks, and conceptual arguments.
  • Study design, sampling, measurement, and analytical methods.
  • Interpretation of data, findings, and conclusions.
  • Relevant evidence or literature that materially affects the interpretation of published findings.
  • Research limitations, reproducibility, and alternative explanations.
  • Potential factual errors or omissions requiring clarification.

2. Submission of Comments

Comments and scholarly responses should be submitted by email to wahana.pendidikan@unsika.ac.id using the following subject line:

Subject: Post-Publication Discussion: [Article Title or DOI]

Contributors should provide the following information:

  • The title, DOI, or URL of the article being discussed.
  • A clear explanation of the question, comment, or criticism.
  • Specific references to relevant passages, tables, figures, or research methods.
  • Supporting evidence or scholarly references, where appropriate.
  • The contributor's name, contact details, affiliation where applicable, and any relevant competing interests.

No fixed deadline applies to raising a substantive concern about a published article. Contributors are encouraged to report relevant issues promptly.

3. Assessment and Author Response

The editorial team assesses submitted comments based on their relevance, clarity, supporting evidence, scholarly value, and respectful presentation. Criticism must not be excluded merely because it challenges the original article or a previous editorial decision.

The editor may request clarification, seek independent expert advice, and invite the original author or authors to respond. Any response is subject to the same standards of accuracy, relevance, and professional conduct as the original comment.

The absence of an author response does not automatically prevent the publication of a substantive critique. Where appropriate, the journal may indicate that the authors were invited to respond but did not provide a response.

4. Publication and Moderation

Substantive comments and responses may be published as letters, commentaries, or editorial correspondence and linked to the original article. Submission does not guarantee publication.

The journal may request revisions or decline material containing personal attacks, abusive or discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, confidential personal information, promotional content, or repetitive material that offers no additional scholarly value.

Anonymous or confidential reports containing specific, verifiable concerns about research integrity will be assessed under the journal's Allegation of Research Misconduct policy. The journal will discuss public attribution of correspondence with the contributor before publication, subject to applicable confidentiality and research-integrity requirements.

5. Corrections and the Scholarly Record

Post-publication discussion does not, by itself, alter a published article. When a discussion identifies a potential error or omission, the editorial team will assess the matter and determine whether further action is necessary.

Verified errors or other issues affecting the accuracy or integrity of the scholarly record will be handled through the journal's applicable correction, retraction, or research-misconduct procedures, as appropriate to the nature and seriousness of the issue.

Editorial Commitment
Wahana Karya Ilmiah Pendidikan encourages constructive scholarly dialogue, fair assessment of criticism, and transparent handling of substantive concerns to support the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the published scholarly record.
